Former Deputy Sentenced to Prison for DUI Plot

“A former Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison Wednesday for taking a bribe to arrest two men for drunken driving in a plot to tarnish the men in divorce cases,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

A federal judge called Stephen Tanabe a “corrupt police officer” who had damaged public confience in law enforcement,  the newspaper reported.
