PECOS, TEXAS – A federal judge sentenced a father and daughter on Tuesday to 30 years and five months and 17 years and six months, respectively, for drug dealing.
Officials said Jose Luis Corrales, 56, and 28-year-old Angelica Corrales, 28, plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, admitting that from October, 2013, continuing until August, 2014, they were drug dealing.
The two distributed over 3000 grams of methamphetamine. Court records indicated that Angelica Corrales admitted she sold at a minimum three grams of methamphetamine, supplied by her father, three times a day for a year.
Neighbors, who spoke to a reporter with NewsWest 9, didn’t want to go on camera but said they’ve noticed a lot of suspicious activity.
“More cars coming into the area, people coming into the alleys,” one neighbor said to NewsWest. “They turn their lights off and go that direction and turn the on again when they get to the main street.”
A house on 7th Street and Ash was also raided. Neighbors in the area said they’re glad arrests were made.
“We’ve never had a drug problem in the area until now,” a neighbor said. “It’s a big relief off our shoulders to know they’re caught.”
