Feds: Man With 40,000 Child Porno Images Sentenced to 70 Years in Prison

Posted on June 5, 2015

PENNSYLVANIA

Dept of JusticeA federal judge sentenced a 41-year-old man who had 40,000 images and more than 100 videos of child pornography to 70 years in prison.

Daniel Curran, 41, of York, Pennsylvania plead guilty to producing, receiving and possessing child pornography on Dec. 4, officials said.

U.S. District Court Judge William W. Caldwell said this was one of the most disturbing cases he had ever seen, thought the maximum sentence was completely justified, noted the defendant was a danger to young people and needed to be in prison for their safety, according to officials.

The pornography was found on Curran’s computer and thumb drives, according to authorities.

Authorities said Curran was  charged in November 2013 and signed a plea agreement in November 2014.

This investigation was conducted by the FBI and the the Northern York County Regional Police Department.
