Two Prison Guards Indicted for Beating Inmate and Writing a False Report About the Incident

ImagesFederalCourtsA federal grand jury charged two prison guards striking an inmate repeatedly in the head and face last year, officials announced today.

The two, William Houghton and Eddie Rodas-Castro, were charge with violating the civil rights of an inmate by assaulting him and obstruction of justice.

The defendants also made false prison reports about the incident and lied to federal investigators regarding the assault, according to authorities.

The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
