Santa Barbara police arrested a man for making a bomb threat on a northbound Amtrak train that halted train service up and down the coast for roughly four hours Friday afternoon, according to KEYT TV news
At some point, the man allegedly threw a backpack out the window, according to the news report.
The news report stated that incident started about 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. The train was stopped on the tracks near Garden Street in downtown Santa Barbara, about a 1.5 miles from the train station, where an electronic sign read: “Train Number 784 system delay due to police action. We apologize for delay.”
