ATMORE, AL.
A situation that began Friday night and lasted until Saturday morning at Holman Prison in Atmore, AL. resulted in a correctional officer and the prison warden being stabbed.
A video and photos from Facebook and YouTube, apparently posted by prisoners inside Holman overnight, revealed a hostile situation at the prison that included a fire in one of the prison dormitories.

According to a press release from the Alabama Department of Corrections, the correctional facility went on lock-down after a correctional officer and the prison warden were stabbed, the TV news report stated.
The first assault reportedly happened at 9:15 p.m. on Friday when the correctional officer responded to a fight between inmates in one of the prison dorms. The officer was stabbed when he attempted to detain one of the inmates involved in the fight.
According to the release, when Warden Carter Davenport and other officers entered the dorm to assess the situation, Davenport was stabbed. He remained at the prison and was treated on-site for his injuries.
The injured officer was transported to an off-site medical facility to be treated for his injuries, the news report stated.
The injuries sustained by the officer and Warden Davenport are reportedly non-life-threatening.
