MAGNOLIA, TEXAS – Walker County Sheriff’s deputies are questioning a Magnolia man about the murders of 14-year-old Adriana Coronado and her father, Caesar Vladimir Coronado.
Jose Solis, 34, was taken into custody on unrelated federal drug charges after a pre-dawn raid at his home in Magnolia.
“She said they were searching for some guy that murdered a 14 year old, I think,” said Ashley Mudd, a neighbor.
Investigators found evidence at the home that will be sent to a lab.
“It’s crazy, too close to home,” said Ashley Ruiz, a neighbor. “You wouldn’t expect it to be here. It’s a small community.”
“It’s so sad to hear those stories, especially to a child,” said Florinda Bonilla, also a neighbor. “As a mom, it’s hard to know. I have three kids on my own. It’s very hard to find this happening in our subdivision.
Adriana’s body was found last week in west Houston, days after an Amber Alert was issued. She’d been shot to death. The Mayde Creek High School freshman was last seen by friends the previous Saturday.
Walker County deputies found her father’s burned body on Monday, March 14 on rural property in Madisonville.
His burned truck was found 48 miles south of there in Conroe.
Coronado’s wife, who was recovering from surgery in Mexico when her husband and daughter were killed, said the family had no known enemies.
The family said Thursday they hadn’t been notified about the new developments.
A neighbor believes there will be more arrests.
“There should be more people. I’m pretty sure the one person will tell about other people,” Vernarda Smith said. “I have faith in God that these people will go down because the little girl did not have to die that way, she did not have to die that way.”
If you know anything about the case, please call the Walker County Sheriff’s Department.
