LARUE, Co., Ky. (WHAS11) — A LaRue County principal made his first appearance in court on Monday after his arrest and being charged with several counts of child pornography.
Stephen Goodlett is now free on bond after after 10 percent of his $75,000 bond was posted. He still has to follow a number of stipulations as his case heads to a grand jury.
Goodlett is charged with more than 60 felony counts of possessing and distributing child pornography. Goodlett served as the principal at LaRue County High School from 2012 until 2016, but was fired on Oct. 18 after his arrest.
Prior to that arrest Goodlett had no record, but the judge in this case is not taking any chances.
“Mr. Goodlett, just to make certain that there are no further allegations, as well as no fury misconduct, we’re going to include a provision that you have no contact with any child under the age of 18–unless it’s under CPS direction…. Remember that no internet use is a requirement of your bond. To the best of my knowledge you have not violated any of your bond conditions so you may remain in the community at this time,” the judge said.
If your child was a student at Elizabethtown High from 2010-2012 or LaRue County High School between 2012 and 2016 and had their phone confiscated, Kentucky State Police are asking you to contact your local authorities.
