ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –
Prosecutors played a police video in federal court showing the fatal shooting of an Albuquerque police officer who was gunned down last year during a nighttime traffic stop, according to published reports.
Police officer Daniel Webster was fatally shot last year, reports indicated. Ex-convict Davon Lymon is on trial for being a felon in possession of a firearm used in Webster’s slaying.
Albuquerque police named Lymon as a suspect in the fatal shooting last year, but state charges have yet to be filed in the case.
In the video, a man is heard shouting, indicating he’s in pain, while the officer yells for the suspect to give him his hand so he can cuff him.
Shots are fired within roughly a half-minute of Webster getting out of his vehicle.
Police say the officer was shot by ex-convict Davon Lymon on Oct. 21, 2015, during a nighttime traffic stop. Webster died eight days later from his injuries at University of New Mexico Hospital.
