JUST SAYING
BY RAUL HERNANDEZ
It’a sinus season.
And, my allergies are back with a vengeance this year – sneezing, some coughing, wheezing and puffy eyes. The Misery Monkey is on my back and riding hard with an armlock around my neck – slowly and tightly squeezing.
All is made worse when you have to use a CPAC machine for sleep apnea. That’s like sleeping with a pillow over your face when you’re congested. Waking up at night gasping for air takes its toll
This year, I am desperate. I’ve become my own lab rat to see what over-the-counter medication will clear up my decongestion and perform some jiu-jitsu on my sinuses.
Mix and match. Double the dose.
First, I did some research on the Internet using the key words: decongestion over-the counter, ratings and reviews. On three medical sites, Sudafed 12 Hour with pseudoephedrine, came up on top and near the top of the list of what works best.
Went to the local CVS on Milpas Street in Santa Barbara and walked up and down the aisles. Couldn’t find the box. Instead, there were cards on shelves. The instructions on the card section stated that if you need this medication bring the card with the name of the medication to the pharmacy counter.
Ok. Got the card and gave it to the female pharmacist assistant. She smiled, took it, came back with the drug and said: “I need to see some ID.”
“For what?”
She explained it was federal drug policy on certain drugs. I showed her my driver’s license, which was inside my wallet and visible.
“You have to take it out,” she said. “I need to see it.”
“Seriously?
She flashed a borderline smirk and nodded.
“DEA?” I asked.
“Yeah.”
She checked my driver’s license and took a photo of it. Incredible.
“And, stupid me. I was just about to go home and cook some meth tonight,” I said out loud and sarcastically.
A young male pharmacist behind the cash register laughs, an older pharmacist, his supervisor, pokes her head from behind the counter and with a solemn voice says: “We take those comments, seriously.”
My smartass attitude which I always keep in the back pocket of my heart counters: “Look at me. I drove to the pharmacy to pick up some Sudafed and ended up here at the airport. Where are the metal detector and x-ray machine?”
Younger assistant pharmacist grins. Pharmacy assistant’s smirk grows smugger.
Then, a day or two later, someone on Facebook posted a New Yorker magazine March 2018 cartoon, which was hilarious. It summed up my trip to the pharmacy.
It’s very difficult to get an AR-15 in California. But if someone is suffering from low self-esteem from a pair of sagging manhoods, they could travel across the state to Arizona and buy one at a “gun show” but take a driver’s license if you are buying a box of Sudafed.
Insane.
TRUMP’S END GAME
Trump along with his shyster John Dowd, Hannity, and other ultra-conservative wingnuts are trying to set the stage to fire Sessions so Trump can appoint one of his Bobble Head Dolls to the DOJ.
Sessions’ replacement will fire Mueller.
Trump is relying on his rubber-stamp Republican Congress to do nothing about it, and they won’t.
The Trump Organized Crime Family including his sons and his daughter, Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner are desperate because they understand what can happen if Mueller continues to unearth the piles of closely guarded financial secrets – the Russian loans, shady real estate transactions and of course, the connections to Deutsche Bank, which has close ties to Putin and his shady oligarchs
Newsweek published an article Dec. 21, 2017 titled, “Is Donald Trump’s Dark Russian Secret Hiding in Deutsche Bank’s Vaults?”
America’s grifters know that Mueller can topple their fragile financial empire that is fueled by massive infusions of Russian money.
Convictions against Trump and his crime family and other co-defendants for money laundering, racketeering, and collusion will topple the Trump financial empire.
Federal government’s Asset Forfeiture laws will force the Trumps to give up property and assets that they have acquired through money laundering and other criminal activity.
I predict that Mueller will come up with some indictments to shore up his case against the Trumps soon, and state Attorney Generals in other states will pick up many criminal charges against the Trumps if Mueller is forced to resign, including evading the payment of state taxes.
STORMY DANIELS
No doubt, Stormy Daniels is milking the Trump affair because down the road there is potential to make millions of dollars. This is America, so why not?
BTW: I wonder why these women who bang Trump didn’t walk through a car wash right afterward and then after getting a full wash and wax call some 800-number and get help.
RUSSIAN SANCTIONS
Remember, Russian bread lines? The economic sanctions will never go that far but the U.S. and NATO should get as close to that as possible.
