DULUTH, MINNESOTA
A federal grand jury indicted Prisoner Transportation Services of America employee, James Baldinger, 51, of Minnesota, on charges that he sexually assaulted a female in his custody while using a firearm, according to authorities.
Counts One and Two of the indictment charge Baldinger with committing civil rights offenses that resulted in bodily injury, including aggravated sexual abuse and the use of a deadly weapon.
Count Three charges Baldinger with knowingly possessing a firearm in furtherance of these crimes of violence, according to officials.
Baldinger faces a maximum of life in prison if convicted of the crimes charged, and a mandatory minimum of five years in prison for possession of the firearm.
Baldinger is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
