Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg is the new and improved version of Donald Trump, who has learned how to build political careers on the backs of black and brown people by playing to the fears and paranoia of white people when it is convenient to do so.
Bloomberg is no fool.
He knew Stop and Frisk terrorized, dehumanized and intimidated people of color in New York City when he as mayor.
When given the facts surrounding Stop and Frisk along with a federal court ruling that the program was unconstitutional, Bloomberg continued to greenlight these terrorist tactics because it was politically expedient at that time.
And, he didn’t believe there would be repercussions. Then, he decided to run for president.
Now, he is on a mea culpa tour: “However, today, I want you to know that I realize back then I was wrong, and I’m sorry,” Bloomberg told the churchgoers.
While Jesus saves and forgives (Hallelujah), minorities have long memories, might forgive but never forget when they go into the ballot box.
It’s called economic and social self-preservation in a country teeming with sea-to-shining-sea bigots, judging by recent Trump polling.
Trump and his congressional bigots make no bones who they are representing: white nationalist views that earned the endorsements of Nazis and racists like David Duke.
Trump even has a White Supremacist satellite office run by a Jew, Herr Miller, who engineered immigration policy allowing the kidnapping and caging of Brown children.
Minorities don’t want a political Trojan Horse named Bloomberg with 20/20 hindsight.
