‘It’s a shot at my reputation’: Lauren Wolfe reacts to NYT’s statement about her dismissal — Washington Post Headline:
Just Saying
By Raul Hernandez
I know how Ms.Wolfe must feel. The NYT has taken hypocrisy to new heights.
Ever been around a group of journalists after a few beers. I have.
They talk like drunken pirates splitting up the booty from a raided ship. It’s ain’t pretty. I never met a human being without biases, although many try to pretend they are free from all prejudice and favoritism.
This brings me to the NYT comments section.
Ever try posting a comment there?
It’s nearly impossible.
They must have an old leprechaun with a broom up his keister, holding a red marker and looking at every word with a jaundiced eye to make sure nobody gets butthurt, politically offended, or swoons while reading the insensitivities.
It’s totally different in the Washington Post.
They do a great job in allowing tasteful comments that breathe, are funny, insightful, blue-collar, and most of all, aren’t packed with long-winded, boring facts and stats that would drown a killer whale.
Exhibit A: New York Times Comments Section.
I know this comment will probably get me placed in the NYT’s Persona-Non-Grata Commentary List after they get butthurt and emotionally overwhelmed, exhausted.
Ohhhh, the humanities!
