Washington Post Opinion: A look inside the plans for the Trump Social Network
‘Washington Post Story: No end in sight’: Inside the Biden administration’s failure to contain the border surge
The next day, Biden was similarly pointed, saying his administration — while eager to roll back Donald Trump’s immigration policies — first needed to implement “guardrails” to avoid winding up with “2 million people on our border.”
The problem is that people who never lived near the border have no clue what is going on there.
Biden should have prepared if he started to allow people trying to enter the country illegally for months.
All some people have to say MS-13 wants me dead or I am here because of economic reasons. Transportation to the border provided courtesy of cartels and coyotes making a lot of money from this human tragedy.
Biden should have consulted with mayors of cities along the border before letting people walk into the U.S. unabated.
Entering the U.S. at a time of a deadly virus and bad economic times is foolish. Every country in the world knows the importance of a safe and secure border.
Trump’s border policies were worse. He sent army troops to stop unarmed, desperate people, mostly women, and children.
Trump’s in-house Nazi sympathizer, Stephen Miller, then took the children from their parents and put them in cages like animals.
Biden should have understood that this was a bad idea to grant asylum in a disorderly fashion without sufficient shelters to house or process people.
More judges, immigration lawyers, and Border Patrol are needed to handle the thousands arriving at the border.
In the next few years, there could be tens of thousands of people living in quasi-refugee camps and shelters.
Politicians need to fully understand the serious problem of illegal immigration before offering duct-tape solutions.
Washington Post Editorial Opinion: The danger of climate change is imminent. The Senate must approve a strong policy.
The danger is imminent. The world cannot afford another round of nice-sounding proposals followed by inaction. Congress must go big on climate change.
