Opinion | No, Judge Benitez, we do not need weapons of war for ‘home defense’
A FEDERAL judge’s decision overturning California’s longtime ban on assault weapons has been rightly mocked for its ludicrous likening of an AR-15 rifle to a Swiss Army knife. But the ruling is no laughing matter. While it will be appealed — and hopefully overturned by jurists who understand the Second Amendment is not without limits — the ruling is part of a sustained attack on gun safety laws that has been emboldened by the shift in balance of the U.S. Supreme Court.
JUST SAYING
BY RAUL HERNNDEZ
The better question is, how many of these morons who make these kinds of crazy comparisons of assault rifles with “Swiss Army knives” are wearing black robes?
I would venture to say, too many.
Exhibit A, for example, Benitez, proves one thing that with the right amount of legalese and razzle-dazzle word scramble from a fool up on a bench wearing a black robe, anybody can put a square peg in a round hole.
Benitez’s 94-page ruling is a right-wing gem, and his thought process will be revered and repeated at Fox “News” and by Trump’s Commandos.
Hiz Honor’s papered, judicial insight could be compared to something a six-year-old would bring home from Kindergarten and immediately goes up on the refrigerator door — “Wow, who is that? Mommy and Daddy? Yeah, and there is our dog too and our house. Woow.”
What’s the saying here: “I’d rather be thought of as a fool than to put it in 94-page ruling and remove all doubt” or something like that.
It is just a matter of time before someone goes into this clown’s court with the argument that he needs a grenade launcher for “home defense” or to bring down deer in the woods.
What handy multi-tool will Benitez use to compare a grenade launcher with? I am guessing a can opener.
Opinion: Why aren’t we talking more about UFOs?

Huffington Post: National Review Confirms ‘Startling’ Report On Trump’s Current Grasp Of Reality
The former president reportedly believes he’s returning to the White House this summer… and that’s not all.
“This is not merely an eccentric interpretation of the facts or an interesting foible, nor is it an irrelevant example of anguished post-presidency chatter,” he wrote. “It is a rejection of reality, a rejection of law, and, ultimately, a rejection of the entire system of American government,” National Review Senior Writer Charles C.W. Cooke wrote.

Just Saying
By Raul Hernandez
What Trump is doing is nothing new — pretending that he has gone off the deep end because he is in a lot of serious trouble with federal and state prosecutors along with the IRS.
That is real, and he is facing serious prison time, millions in IRS fines, and property and money he stole from others taken away from him.
Remember, mobster Vincent Gigante, Vinny the Chin. He did the same thing when he was in trouble with prosecutors. He wandered around in pajamas, a bathrobe, old house slippers, and muttering nonsense to his imaginary pals.
An undercover detective testified in court that Gigante acted normally when off his guard.
Gigante’s lawyers kept insisting that Vinny had lost his mind. They gave psychiatric reports at Vinny’s trial that he had paranoid schizophrenia. Vinny was declared unfit to stand trial, and the criminal charges against him were dropped.
Bill Cosby played the role of a frail, blind man to win sympathy from the public. He entered the courtroom with people helping him walk.
No doubt, Trump has the IQ of a slug.
But his primal instincts make him resort to what he knows best — the con, the lies, and the charm to get his supporters and parasites along with Fox and other right-wing media on his side by playing the sympathy card.
What is shocking are the millions of dupes, many of whom have college degrees, who still subscribe to the BS that Trump is their political messiah, he will be resurrected and take them to the Whites-Only, Land of Milk and Honey.
