A former Palmdale high school teacher was sentenced Thursday to seven years and four months in state prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old student, according to officials.
Anthony Mahari Faaborg, 54, of Palmdale pleaded no contest on June 30 to one felony count each of lewd/lascivious act with a minor 14 or 15 and oral copulation of a minor under 16 as well as three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor under 16.
The defendant also was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Faarbog teaches the JROTC program, according to the school’s staff directory. The Antelope Valley Union High School District is not commenting.
Faaborg, who was a teacher at Pete Knight High School, had inappropriate sexual conduct with the student who went to the school but was not in his class, on or between October and December 2019.
