TENNESSEE
A Missouri woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in Tennessee for her role in a scheme to defraud Elvis Presley’s family out of millions and steal their ownership of Graceland, his former home in Memphis.
Lisa Jeanine Findley, 53, of Kimberling City, admitted to orchestrating a fraudulent sale of Graceland. She used a fake company, forged documents, and false court filings to claim that Elvis Presley’s daughter had used Graceland as collateral for a loan she never repaid.
Findley then threatened to foreclose on the property and auction it unless the family paid or settled the fake debt.
Findley pleaded guilty to mail fraud and faces up to 20 years in prison. Her sentencing is set for June 18. A federal judge will determine her sentence based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) and FBI Nashville Field Office investigated the case.
Prosecutors include Trial Attorney Aaron Henricks from the Justice Department’s Fraud Section and Assistant U.S. Attorney Carroll L. André III.
