LOS ANGELES
A Colombian pleaded guilty Monday to a federal charge for his role in an armed robbery at a Beverly Hills hotel and involvement with a crew that possessed a firearm once registered to ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, officials stated.
Jamer Mauricio Sepulveda Salazar, 22, admitted to one count of interference with commerce by robbery (Hobbs Act) and has been in federal custody since August 2024.
The gun had previously been registered to Dorner, who died in a 2013 standoff after committing multiple murders, according to authorities.
According to his plea agreement, Sepulveda was the getaway driver in the August 7, 2024, armed robbery of a victim, identified as “T.A.,” at “THE Blvd” restaurant in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, according to authorities.
Two unidentified robbers held T.A. at gunpoint and stole his Patek Philippe Nautilus wristwatch, valued at about $1 million.
Two days before the robbery, Sepulveda and his co-defendant, Jesus Eduardo Bryan Padron Rojas, 20, an illegal alien from Venezuela, cased the area searching for T.A.’s watch, which they and their crew estimated to be worth $1.3 million. They also robbed another victim of a $30,000 Rolex at gunpoint.
The crew stayed at an Airbnb and possessed multiple firearms, including a Glock .45-caliber handgun loaded with 12 rounds.
U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II scheduled Sepulveda’s sentencing for July 14. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison. Charges against Padron remain pending.
