A Memphis man was sentenced Friday to over seven years in federal prison for his role in a fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy tied to a local gang, federal officials stated.
Courtney Davis, 28, also known as “Geo” and “Geo Grape,” conspired with co-defendant Brian Lackland, aka “Stupid Duke” and “Homework,” and others to distribute the drugs as part of a network connected to the Young Mob gang.
Beginning in March 2024, federal agents used wiretaps to intercept Davis discussing the sale of fentanyl pills—known as “blues”—and meth. Prosecutors said Davis was responsible for distributing about 90 grams of fentanyl and 1,360 grams of meth.
Davis, one of 18 defendants charged in the ongoing probe, pleaded guilty in December and is the first to be sentenced.
The case was investigated by the ATF and the Memphis Multiagency Gang Unit.
Trial Attorneys Brian P. Leaming and Amanda Kotula of the Criminal Division’s Violent Crime and Racketeering Section and Assistant U.S. Attorney P. Neal Oldham for the Western District of Tennessee prosecuted the case.
