A Minnesota man was sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison for possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) via the dark web.
Craig James Myran, 47, of Bemidji, was convicted of advertising, distributing, and possessing CSAM. He was an active user on multiple dark web forums dedicated to trafficking CSAM, where he made over a thousand posts sharing and requesting disturbing content. In one post, he called certain files his “holy grail.”
During a 2022 FBI search of his apartment, agents found thousands of CSAM images on his phone and hard drives, along with evidence of his efforts to publish and solicit illegal material. He also discussed producing his own CSAM by recording minors during online webcam sessions.
The FBI Minneapolis Field Office led the investigation.
