RIVERSIDE, Calif.
A former San Bernardino County school bus driver pleaded guilty today to a federal charge of possessing thousands of images depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM), authorities announced Monday.
Donal James Seaver, 51, of Hesperia, admitted to one count of possession of child pornography and has remained in federal custody since March 2024.
According to his plea agreement, federal and local law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at Seaver’s residence in March. They seized four digital devices from his bedroom—three of which contained CSAM.
A Samsung tablet held thousands of illicit images, some involving children under the age of 12.
Seaver admitted to knowingly downloading the material from the internet, fully aware it depicted minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
U.S. District Judge Jesus G. Bernal scheduled sentencing for Aug. 25, when Seaver could face up to 20 years in federal prison, officials stated.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sonah Lee of the Riverside Branch Office.
