Posted on May 13, 2025

La Cosa Nostra Convicted Felon Admits to Drug, Prostitution and Weapons ChargesA Las Vegas man who pleaded guilty to threatening U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen from Nevada and threatening family members of two U.S. Senators was sentenced Tuesday to three years and 10 months in prison, officials stated.

“The threats against these U.S. Senators and their families were vile, dehumanizing, and shameful,” said Sue J. Bai, head of the National Security Division. “Today’s sentence reflects the Department’s firm resolve to holding accountable those who seek to intimidate and harm our public officials. Such threats of violence have no place in our country.”

John Anthony Miller pleaded guilty to threatening two U.S. Senators and their immediate family members in October 2023.

According to court documents, Miller left multiple voicemails between Oct. 11 and 25, threatening to assault and kill the Senators and their family members to intimidate and retaliate against them for their official duties.

He pleaded guilty to one count of threatening a federal official and two counts of threatening family members to influence or retaliate against federal officials.

U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey presided over the case.
