LOS ANGELES
A 10-time convicted felon from Palmdale has been arrested on a federal indictment alleging he sold fentanyl that caused four fatal overdoses at a Palmdale home in January 2024, the Justice Department announced on Friday.
Damian Michael Evans, 46, was arrested Thursday.
He faces 10 federal charges, including:
-
Distribution of fentanyl resulting in death
-
Drug trafficking involving methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and MDMA
-
Illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition as a felon
-
Possession of a firearm during drug trafficking
According to the indictment, Evans distributed fentanyl on January 15, 2024, leading to four overdose deaths. Authorities allege he continued to traffic drugs even after the deaths and was found with a revolver and ammunition, despite 10 prior felony convictions, most for drug dealing between 1997 and 2016.
If convicted on all counts, Evans faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years and up to life in federal prison.
The case is part of the DEA’s Overdose Justice Program and the L.A. County Sheriff’s Overdose Response Task Force.
It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brittney M. Harris of the Transnational Organized Crime Section.
