LONG BEACH, CA
Off-duty U.S. Border Patrol Agent Isaiah Anthony Hodgson, 28, has been charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest while intoxicated and armed at Shoreline Village on July 7, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Hodgson was reportedly drunk and carrying his department-issued handgun when he entered a women’s restroom, alarming a female patron who notified restaurant staff. Security later found Hodgson in the parking lot with a visible firearm and magazine.
After refusing repeated demands to leave, police were called.
Upon arrival, Long Beach officers encountered an uncooperative Hodgson. He allegedly resisted arrest and injured one officer during the altercation.
Hodgson faces three felony counts of resisting an executive officer, one felony count of battery on a peace officer with injury, and three misdemeanor firearm-related charges. Prosecutors allege his conduct posed a serious danger to public safety.
He was arraigned on Friday and ordered to surrender his firearms, remain in California, and attend three alcohol counseling meetings weekly. His next court date is July 17.
If convicted, Hodgson faces up to seven years in prison.
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy DA Nicholas Liddy and investigated by the Long Beach PD.
