The Trump buffoon Tom Homan flew to Minnesota to tell the world that Trump’s Gestapo — ICE — was winding down after an immigration-enforcement blitz that sparked violent protests and saw at least two U.S. citizens killed by federal agents.
Of course, in Homan’s telling, these masked thugs did nothing wrong — just like he insists he did nothing wrong while making $50,000 disappear as mysteriously as the Epstein files.
This guy seems to assume most of the nation has the IQ of a Fox “News” viewer or a rhesus monkey. Meanwhile, the Democrats, for the most part, can only point the public toward what the world has already seen on video — thanks to citizens with cameras.
And in all the political gasbaggery and chest-thumping in front of media cameras and mics, one crucial fact gets ignored:
The United States Supreme Court in City of Houston v. Hill (1987) made clear that police officers, as “properly trained” law-enforcement professionals, are expected to exercise a higher degree of restraint than ordinary citizens when dealing with speech and conduct. Keyword: properly trained — and no one ever asks Homan, “Did you see the videos? Do you still argue that ICE agents are properly trained?”
Why is this important? Because the world needs to know that armed American police are held to a higher standard of conduct than protesters or an average citizen walking down the street — people who are being brutalized, beaten, gassed or killed by domestic terrorists in government uniforms.
