A Downey man has been arrested on a federal complaint accusing him of grooming minor girls online to create sexually explicit videos, including footage depicting self-harm and humiliation, which he then shared on the internet, prosecutors stated.
Bryant Najera Gonzalez, 24, is charged with production of child pornography. He was arrested Thursday, appeared in downtown Los Angeles federal court the same day and was ordered held without bond. His arraignment is set for March 10, officials stated.
From at least April to June 2025, authorities stated that Gonzalez allegedly used social media, direct messages and other online platforms to coerce minors into making child sexual abuse material and discussed extorting them by threatening to send explicit images to their families.
Investigators believe Gonzalez is linked to an online nihilistic violent extremist ideology associated with the group “764,” whose adherents promote chaos and societal collapse through sadistic exploitation of vulnerable people, including children.
In one instance, an 11-year-old girl allegedly sent him multiple explicit videos and an image, which he later shared with others, and in another, a 15-year-old girl allegedly sent sexually explicit images and videos of self-harm and self-humiliation at his urging.
If convicted of the child pornography production charge, Gonzalez faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison. The FBI and Downey Police Department are investigating.
