Defendant convicted of murder during sex trafficking scheme after killing rival over control of a trafficking victim at Brooklyn’s notorious “Penn Track.”
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A Brooklyn man was sentenced Friday to 50 years in federal prison for murdering a rival pimp during a dispute over control of a sex trafficking victim and for trafficking two women at a notorious open-air prostitution market in Brooklyn, officials announced this week.
Omari Scott, also known as “Prince” and “Sir Prince,” was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kiyo A. Matsumoto after being convicted of murder in the course of sex trafficking, sex trafficking two victims identified as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2, and promoting prostitution.
A federal jury convicted Scott in June 2025 of murder in the course of sex trafficking and the sex trafficking of Jane Doe 2. Before trial, Scott pleaded guilty to sex trafficking Jane Doe 1 and promoting prostitution.

According to prosecutors, Scott trafficked women at the open-air sex market known as the “Penn Track” in Brooklyn. The murder stemmed from a dispute over control of Jane Doe 2, whom Scott was trafficking.
The court will determine restitution for the victims at a later date.
According to evidence presented at trial, Scott trafficked women for years at Brooklyn’s Penn Track and other locations in New York City and New Jersey.
Prosecutors said he lured victims with promises of love and financial security, then confiscated their earnings, imposed nightly quotas, and used violence and threats to maintain control.
In recorded calls, Scott threatened to beat women who failed to meet his demands, leaving victims financially dependent on him for food, clothing, and shelter for themselves and their children.
In April 2023, after learning that Jane Doe 2 planned to leave him for rival pimp Cleveland Clay, Scott allegedly grabbed her by the hair, dragged her through the street, and forced her into his car.
When Clay refused to back down, Scott recruited fellow sex trafficker Michael Simmons, provided him with a handgun, and directed him to kill Clay.
Simmons fatally shot Clay on May 1, 2023, in a White Castle parking lot near the Penn Track before returning to Scott to report the killing. Clay died several hours later, according to officials.
Simmons pleaded guilty in January 2025 to murder in the course of sex trafficking and sex trafficking Jane Doe 2 and is awaiting sentencing.
