PORTLAND, Ore. — Two men accused of allegedly using dating apps, fake investment opportunities and claims of NFL wealth to defraud more than two dozen women of approximately $1.3 million have been charged in federal court.
Daejon Labrayae Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, are charged by criminal complaint with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud.
Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

According to court documents, Love and Chan created fictitious investment opportunities beginning in February 2022 and used them to defraud women in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California.
Love met most of the women through online dating apps, prosecutors alleged. Chan then posed as Love’s financial adviser to make the investments appear legitimate and gain the women’s trust.
The defendants allegedly obtained money from the women through lies and misrepresentations. Financial records indicate Love and Chan received approximately $1.3 million from at least 26 victims, although the FBI believes there may be additional victims.
The alleged scheme continued until Love and Chan were arrested Aug. 24, 2026.
Prosecutors said Love created fictitious identities and displayed a lavish lifestyle in person and on social media. He allegedly portrayed himself as a wealthy real estate investor or an NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers.
Love has allegedly used several names, including Jon Love, Daejon Love, Avril Lyto Love and Jordan Love.
Federal arrest warrants and the criminal complaint were issued Aug. 17 in the District of Oregon. Investigators said Chan flew from California to meet Love in Boise, Idaho, on Aug. 24. FBI agents and other law enforcement officers arrested both men at Boise Airport.
Authorities said Love was in Idaho to meet additional potential victims. Investigators determined that he had traveled to New Mexico, California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah and Idaho between July 15 and Aug. 24.
Both men remained in federal custody in Boise and were scheduled to make their initial court appearances Thursday.
The FBI is investigating the case.
