SALT LAKE CITY — A 22-year-old Utah man has been indicted on federal charges after allegedly threatening to bomb a synagogue and authorities discovered six functional pipe bombs, firearms and ammunition inside his home, federal prosecutors stated Thursday.

According to court documents, Rose allegedly posted several threats on social media Dec. 23, 2025, including one stating, “I wanna blow up a synagogue.”

FBI investigators traced the threatening posts to an internet address associated with Rose’s residence. Working with Ogden police, agents confirmed that the social media account belonged to Rose, prosecutors said.

During a search of his home, investigators recovered six functional improvised explosive devices, one inert device, bomb-making materials, two rifles, ammunition and a Samsung cellphone.

A subsequent search of the phone revealed that Rose had searched online for a nearby synagogue in November 2025, according to court documents.

Investigators also allegedly discovered hundreds of cached images and screenshots depicting child sexual abuse material on the device.
