Man Arrested for ISIS-Inspired Plot to Attack U.S. Capitol and Kill Government Workers

US_Capitol_from_NWCINCINNATI – A 20-year-old man was arrested for a plot to attack the U.S. Capitol and kill government officials, federal officials announced Wednesday.

Christopher Lee Cornell, 20, of Green Township, Ohio, was charged in a criminal complaint with attempting to kill officers and employees of the United States and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, according to the U.S. Justice Department.

Cornell was taken into custody today by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
