GARFIELD, ARKANSAS — A man who allegedly passed himself off as a highly decorated Navy Seal who served in dozens of covert combat missions from the jungles of Vietnam to the caves of Afghanistan was arrested on Friday, say federal officials.
Arthur James “AJ” Dicken of Garfield, Arkansas was arrested on charges stemming from firearm violations, authorities said.
Officials said the charges stemmed from when Dicken operated a military style self-defense school in Carson City, Nevada.
Dicken often wore the Navy SEAL trident insignia and loved to show off his numerous awards to include two Congressional Medal of Honor awards, said authorities.
Dicken never served in the military but he operated a military style self-defense school in Carson City, Nevada. The training he provided included firearms and self-defense tactics, authorities said.
Dicken was profiled on both ABC-TV’s 20/20 and the TV program Inside Edition. He also bilked investors out of more than $850,000 for a proposed new international security firm, said federal officials.
Dicken was arrested without incident, according to federal agents.
