The public must be able to trust the police,\u201d U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance said. \u201cLaw enforcement officers who violate their oath to protect and use excessive force must be brought to justice.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/T8da5cPBeqE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BVgXZpwvc5I\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to the indictment, Parker\u2019s actions deprived the victim of his right under the U.S. Constitution to be secure from unreasonable searches and seizures, which includes the right to be free from unreasonable force by someone acting under color of law.<\/p>\n<p>An indictment is only an allegation and does not constitute evidence of guilt on the part of the defendant.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI investigated the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BIRMINGHAM\u2014 A federal grand jury indicted a Madison police officer who injured a man by slamming him to the ground, officials announced today.
