NEW ORLEANS<\/strong>\u2014 Howard Gregor,<\/strong> a resident of Attica, Ohio, \u00a0who claimed out-of-pocket expenses to the tune of $300,000 from November 2008 to April 2013, charged with fraud, federal prosecutors allege.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, federal prosecutors charged him with bill of information for mail along with wire fraud. Gregor allegedly sent his business expenses through the U.S. Mail and electronic mail, officials stated.<\/p>\n

U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite<\/strong> announced that Gregor, 52, a resident of Attica, Ohio, was charged Wednesday in a two-count Bill of Information for mail and wire fraud.<\/p>\n

Gregor worked for a New Orleans-based company that manufactures conveyor belts for use in food processing and packaging facilities, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

His work in sales required him to travel frequently and so, he incurred business-related expenses.<\/p>\n

Rather than submitting expense reports for actual expenses, Gregor cheated his employer by creating phony expenses. Gregor sent his expense reports through the U.S. Mail, officials said.<\/p>\n

If convicted, Gregor is facing up to 20 years behind bars.<\/p>\n

The FBI<\/strong> and U.S. Postal Inspection Service<\/strong> investigated this case.<\/p>\n
