{"id":1351,"date":"2014-03-04T12:56:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-04T20:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=1351"},"modified":"2014-03-11T14:09:29","modified_gmt":"2014-03-11T21:09:29","slug":"man-gets-25-years-prison-producing-distributing-child-porn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=1351","title":{"rendered":"Washington Man Gets 25 years in Prison for Producing and Distributing Child Porn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\"><strong>WASHINGTON<\/strong> &#8212; A 38-year-old man was sentenced last week to 25 years in prison for production and distribution of child pornography, federal authorities said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jonathan Scott Lee, <\/strong>of Kelso Washington,\u00a0also admitted to taking sexually explicit images of an 11-year-old girl, according to officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe production of child pornography\u2014coupled with the physical sexual abuse of children\u2014is a heinous crime with devastating, lifelong impacts on its victims,\u201d said U.S. Attorney Jenny A. Durkan. \u201cDistributing the photos of these children being molested further victimizes them and warrants this significant prison sentence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lee was arrested\u00a0\u00a0in October 2012 after he sent images of child pornography to an undercover officer working in New Zealand. \u00a0Officials said Lee thought he was communicating with someone who could provide him additional images of child pornography.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement was able to trace the photos to Lee and his camera.\u00a0Police seized his computer and other media storage devices at his Kelso home, according to officials.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Authorities said images and videos of child pornography were found on Lee&#8217;s computer, an external hard drive, and his smartphone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u201cNot only did the defendant abuse children, he shared his exploitation with predators around the world,\u201d said Brad Bench, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Seattle. \u201cHSI places a high priority on combating this despicable crime, not only to identify and rescue child victims, but to stop their re-victimization by individuals who view and distribute Internet child pornography.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON &#8212; A 38-year-old man was sentenced last week to 25 years in prison for production and distribution of child pornography, federal authorities said.
