AMARILLO, TEXAS<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\"U.S.<\/a>Federal officials announced today that\u00a0Dorothy Stegall Barnes,<\/strong> a\/k\/a \u201cDorothy Stegall Newman,\u201d 56, plead guilty to\u00a0one count of embezzlement from a federally insured credit union.<\/span><\/p>\n

Barnes is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 8 and is facing up to 30 years in federal prison along with a $1 million fine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The indictment alleges that from approximately September 1996 through December 2010, Barnes, the Assistant Vice-President of Teller Operations at the Pantex Federal Credit Union, embezzled approximately $826,000 from the credit union.<\/span><\/p>\n
