{"id":17018,"date":"2015-11-03T13:50:25","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T21:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=17018"},"modified":"2015-11-03T13:50:25","modified_gmt":"2015-11-03T21:50:25","slug":"man-convicted-of-sexually-abusing-minors-while-in-russia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=17018","title":{"rendered":"Man Convicted of Sexually Abusing Minors While in Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>LOS ANGELES<\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Justice-Scales.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4817 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Justice-Scales-300x102.jpg\" alt=\"Justice Scales\" width=\"300\" height=\"102\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Justice-Scales-300x102.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Justice-Scales.jpg 675w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>A federal jury found a Los Angeles man guilty of sexually abusing three minor girls during trips to Russia over a two-year period, according to officials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Yusef Yunosovich Abramov<\/strong>, 58, was convicted on Friday night after a four-day jury trial of six felony counts, including engaging in illicit sexual conduct in foreign places and traveling in foreign commerce with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 6.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The evidence at trial indicated the following:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In\u00a0\u00a0June 2009, Abramov, a dual Russian and U.S. citizen, flew from Los Angeles to Russia, and shortly after his arrival, he violently raped a 12-year-old girl and threatened to sever her head and play soccer with it if she told anyone about the abuse.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In November 2009, Abramov again traveled to Russia and engaged in further sexual abuse of minor girls while there.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In March 2010, believing that local schoolgirls had contacted the police, Abramov and two accomplices cornered three minor girls.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Abramov threatened all three girls while wielding a knife and each man then raped one of the girls.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The evidence showed that, after threatening the girls\u2019 lives, Abramov continued to rape at least two of the girls during his subsequent trips to Russia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In April 2014, following an investigation by Russian and U.S. authorities, Abramov was arrested in Los Angeles.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> He has remained in custody since his arrest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The investigation was conducted by <strong>U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement\u2019s Homeland Security Investigations<\/strong>, in cooperation with <strong>The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation <\/strong>and the<strong> Moscow City Police.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES A federal jury found a Los Angeles man guilty of sexually abusing three minor girls during trips to Russia over a two-year period, according to officials.
