{"id":1809,"date":"2014-03-20T15:32:35","date_gmt":"2014-03-20T22:32:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=1809"},"modified":"2014-04-13T19:41:13","modified_gmt":"2014-04-14T02:41:13","slug":"man-convicted-committing-violent-sex-trafficking-crimes-facing-life-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=1809","title":{"rendered":"Man Convicted of Committing Violent Sex Trafficking Crimes Facing Life in Prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Maryland-Sex-Trafficking-Unit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1813\" alt=\"Maryland Sex Trafficking Unit\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Maryland-Sex-Trafficking-Unit-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>MARYLAND<\/strong> &#8211; A man who bragged about murdering people to his female victims was convicted of sex trafficking and other related felony charges, according to federal authorities.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">After a two-week trial, a jury on Wednesday convicted \u00a0Jean Claude Roy, aka Dredd the Don and Dreddy, age 31, of Germantown, Md., \u00a0of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. He was also found guilty of three counts of interstate transportation for prostitution and witness and evidence tampering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Roy is facing up to life in prison when he is sentenced in July<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u201cAs a member of the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force, HSI is committed to working with our law enforcement partners to investigate human trafficking, as well as working with our local non-governmental, community-based and faith-based organizations to identify, rescue and assist victims of trafficking,\u201d said Homeland Security Investigations&#8217; Special Agent in Charge William Winter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to evidence, this is what happened:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Between August and September 2012, Roy transported a victim across state lines to engage in prostitution and forced the victim to engage in prostitution by taking the victim\u2019s identity documents, keeping all of the victim\u2019s money and bragging about beating murder charges.<\/li>\n<li>In November 2012, Roy recruited co-defendant <strong>Brittney Creaso<\/strong>n to engage in prostitution at his direction.<\/li>\n<li>Thereafter, Creason helped Roy recruit and transport girls from Illinois and North Carolina to engage in prostitution.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">From Jan. 1 through Jan. 10, 2013, while Roy was in jail on related state charges, he called an individual several times and had that person access online accounts and storage services belonging to Roy and Creason in order to erase evidence related to these charges.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The jury found Roy not guilty of sex trafficking and attempted sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; and possessing and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.<\/p>\n<p>Creason, aka Kitty Amor, age 19, of Decatur, Ill., previously pleaded guilty to using a facility in interstate commerce for an illegal activity and awaits sentencing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MARYLAND &#8211; A man who bragged about murdering people to his female victims was convicted of sex trafficking and other related felony charges, according to federal authorities.
