\"u.s.<\/a>FLORIDA<\/strong> – A woman was the last of six defendants to plead guilty to stealing the identities of 92 patients of a medical facility in central Florida, the Justice Department announced Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those identities were then used to file fraudulent federal income tax returns in the patients\u2019 names to get fraudulent refunds and fraudulent credit cards, which were used to make purchases.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eltonya Wiley<\/strong>, 40, of Lady Lake, pled guilty for her role in a wide-ranging identity theft scheme.<\/p>\n

Wiley told authorities that at least 92 patients of Villages Endocopy near The Villages in Central Florida had their identities stolen while she was an employee at that medical facility.<\/p>\n

Wiley plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, three counts of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft.<\/p>\n

She is facing up to 20 years in prison for each count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and wire fraud; and, a mandatory sentence of two years in prison for the aggravated identity theft charge, to run consecutively to any other sentence, according to federal officials.<\/span><\/p>\n
