In one instance, a picture shows him with school faculty pointing a Taser-like weapon towards a <a id=\"itxthook3\" class=\"itxtnewhook itxthook\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fox5dc.com\/news\/local-news\/144250107-story#\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span id=\"itxthook3p\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstspan itxtnowrap\"><span id=\"itxthook3w\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstspan itxtnowrap itxtnewhookspan\">teacher&#8217;s<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"itxthook3icon\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstimg itxthookicon\" src=\"http:\/\/images.intellitxt.com\/ast\/adTypes\/icon1.png\" \/><\/span><\/a>head.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Officer Veiga has been charged with harassment in the past and was also arrested back in 2012 for DUI. Those charges were adjudicated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Then in 2014, he was charged again with DUI \u2013 this time while <a id=\"itxthook4\" class=\"itxtnewhook itxthook\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fox5dc.com\/news\/local-news\/144250107-story#\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span id=\"itxthook4p\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstspan itxtnowrap\"><span id=\"itxthook4w\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstspan itxtnowrap itxtnewhookspan\">driving<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"itxthook4icon\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstimg itxthookicon\" src=\"http:\/\/images.intellitxt.com\/ast\/adTypes\/icon1.png\" \/><\/span><\/a> his police cruiser. He was found guilty and ordered to supervised probation. Veiga was subsequently taken off patrol and reassigned as a school resource officer at Sherwood High School.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A few months afterwards, Officer Veiga spoke at a drug and alcohol awareness <a id=\"itxthook5\" class=\"itxtnewhook itxthook\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fox5dc.com\/news\/local-news\/144250107-story#\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span id=\"itxthook5p\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstspan itxtnowrap\"><span id=\"itxthook5w\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstspan itxtnowrap itxtnewhookspan\">seminar<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"itxthook5icon\" class=\"itxtrst itxtrstimg itxthookicon\" src=\"http:\/\/images.intellitxt.com\/ast\/adTypes\/icon1.png\" \/><\/span><\/a> at Sherwood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">FOX 5 went to Veiga\u2019s home on Monday for comment, but no one answered the door.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SANDY SPRING, Md. &#8211; A Montgomery County police officer is facing allegations of excessive force at a high school prom.
