href=\"http:\/\/www.mystatesman.com\/news\/news\/local\/violent-arrest-of-teacher-caught-on-video-officers\/nr3W6\/\">by a police officer during a traffic stop last year<\/a>, responded Friday morning to a public apology by police Chief Art Acevedo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cI appreciate it very much, and it\u2019s a step in the right direction,\u201d King said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">She said what happened to her \u201cis an opportunity to make things better and to change things for the better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">King is doing multiple local, state and national interviews this morning after the American-Statesman and KVUE-TV first aired police dash camera video showing officer Bryan Richter using force on her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The incident happened in June 2015, but the video surfaced as part of new investigations by the Austin Police Department and the Travis County District Attorney\u2019s office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"trb_ar_dateline\">\n<div class=\"cm-inline
