{"id":2646,"date":"2014-04-24T18:09:38","date_gmt":"2014-04-25T01:09:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=2646"},"modified":"2014-04-24T18:36:25","modified_gmt":"2014-04-25T01:36:25","slug":"gang-member-convicted-selling-guns-powerful-armenian-power-gang-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=2646","title":{"rendered":"Gang Member Convicted of Selling Guns to a Powerful Armenian Power Gang Leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>LOS ANGELES<\/strong> \u2013 A long-time street gang member and associate of the Armenian Power was convicted for his role in supplying firearms to the leader of an organized crime group, according to federal officials.<\/p>\n<p>Miguel Ramirez, 38, of Los Angeles, was found guilty today of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.<\/p>\n<p>He is facing up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in July.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence indicated that Ramirez\u00a0sold and distributed at least three firearms, including a loaded Intratec model Tec-22 semi-automatic with a threaded barrel, a large-capacity magazine and a laser sight<\/p>\n<p>Officers found the weapons on Nov. 23, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Ramirez sold and distributed these firearms to Mher \u201cCapone\u201d Darbinyan, a powerful Armenian Power gang leader, who was himself convicted at trial last week for crimes including racketeering conspiracy, extortion, bank fraud and firearms offenses, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said the evidence showed that Ramirez had repeatedly offered Darbinyan other firearms and ammunition, including expanding ammunition designed for use on human targets<\/p>\n<p>Out of the 90 defendants charged in the two indictments targeting Armenian Power, 86 have now been convicted. One defendant is scheduled to go on trial on July 15, two defendants are fugitives and prosecutors dismissed charges against one defendant, federal officials
