{"id":29904,"date":"2017-03-17T18:01:26","date_gmt":"2017-03-18T01:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=29904"},"modified":"2017-03-17T18:02:42","modified_gmt":"2017-03-18T01:02:42","slug":"feds-man-had-more-than-a-pound-of-methamphetamine-in-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=29904","title":{"rendered":"Feds: Man Had More than a Pound of Methamphetamine in Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>LOS ANGELES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-14523 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Courtroom-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" \/>Federal officials announced Friday that a West Covina man was charged in federal court with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Authorities found over one-half<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> kilogram of methamphetamine in his residence and a lot of weapons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Edwin Francisco Reyes, 44, was charged with the drug trafficking offense in a criminal complaint filed Wednesday in federal court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">According to the affidavit in support of the complaint, Reyes was arrested by the Chino Police Department on March 2 after they executed a search warrant at the home he shared with his wife and four children. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">During the search, officers with the Chino Police Department seized 532 grams \u2013 or nearly 19 ounces \u2013 of methamphetamine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Reyes, who admitted being a convicted felon, also was in possession of 28 firearms, including six handguns, two bolt-action <\/span>rifles<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> and two AR-style rifles, according to the affidavit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The affidavit alleges that Reyes admitted being involved in a drug trafficking ring as a runner who delivered drugs to buyers in exchange for cash. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">On the day the search warrant was executed, according to the affidavit, Reyes admitted picking up five pounds of methamphetamine to deliver to Ontario.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES Federal officials announced Friday that a West Covina man was charged in federal court with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
