OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI<\/strong> \u00a0– A man who possessed ricin and mailed poison-laced letters including one that threatened bodily harm to President Obama was sentenced today to 25 years in prison, federal officials said.<\/p>\n

U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock also said James Everett Dutschke, 41, of Tupelo, Miss. must serve 5 years of supervised released following his release from prison.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Dutschke was arrested on April 27, 2013, and indicted by a federal grand jury on June 3, 2013.<\/p>\n

Dutschke pled guilty on Jan. 17, 2014 to one count of developing and possessing ricin, a<\/a>nd three subsequent counts of mailing threatening letters laced with the substance to the President Obama, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, and Lee County, Mississippi, Justice Court Judge Sadie Holland.<\/p>\n
