Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao, who took part in apprehending Floyd, who was Black, will stand trial on two counts apiece. Former officer Thomas Lane will face a single charge in the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>****************************************<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>JUST SAYING<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>BY RAUL HERNANDEZ<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>NOTEBOOKVENTURA@GMAIL.COM<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/defendants-including-two-doctors-convicted-97-million-medicare-fraud\/ladyjustice\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1537\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1537\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/LADYJUSTICE.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a>One reason the Justice Department&#8217;s decision to bring charges against these officers is because of two things: a juror failed to disclose his connections, no matter how remote, with Black Lives Matter and the judge presiding in Chauvin&#8217;s trial.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">First of all, the juror is a moron who didn&#8217;t follow the court&#8217;s instructions.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Defense attorneys are now indicating that the juror&#8217;s nondisclosure was crucial in making sure that Chauvin received a fair trial.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">In addition, the judge in the Chauvin trial, Peter Cahill, had already set the groundwork for appeal by making the following comments about Rep. Maxine Waters&#8217; remarks.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/skid-row\/judge-gavel\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-39979\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-39979 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/judge-gavel-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>&#8220;I&#8217;ll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned,&#8221; Judge Peter Cahill told defense attorney Eric Nelson.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Nelson isn&#8217;t stupid and picked up Cahill&#8217;s remark on the bench, and now, the juror who didn&#8217;t disclose his BLM connection is problematic for state prosecutors<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42650\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42650\" style=\"width: 183px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/just-saying-american-justice-is-becoming-an-oxymoron\/download-17-4\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-42650\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42650 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/download-17.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"275\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42650\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Judge Peter Cahill<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The courts are laden with right-wing conservative state and federal judges, including at the appellate level and the U.S. Supreme Court, who could reverse Chauvin&#8217;s conviction due to jury misconduct.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">So, the stage is set.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Judge Cahill might decide to give Chauvin a light sentence.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">On appeal, Chauvin might win and have his conviction overturned.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">In some states, a defendant who successfully appeals his case can also be set free on bond pending another trial.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Initially, Chauvin was free on bond. So, he could be out on bond, again, if the conviction is overturned.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">U.S. Attorney\u00a0Merrick Garland and the Justice Department officials understand the judicial climate in this country. Chauvin and the others get light sentences or win on appeal.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Federal prosecutors, however, can still prosecute these cases to the U.S. District Courts. No doubt that there is overwhelming evidence that Chauvin is a cold-blooded killer.
