While Canelo was lying on a bathroom floor, Ramos-Corrales recorded a video of the puppy and posted it on his Snapchat account, according to the plea agreement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv7439680417MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">On the video, Ramos-Corrales makes a series of statements, including \u201cI\u2019m cold-hearted,\u201d and then callously kicks the still-alive Canelo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv7439680417MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After law enforcement arrived at Ramos-Corrales\u2019 residence, Riverside County Department of Animal Services took custody of Canelo and a veterinarian determined that the dog was still alive, but later euthanized Canelo because of the severity of the dog\u2019s injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The defendant is innocent unless proven guilty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv7439680417MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S.District Judge John F. Walter has scheduled an August 16 sentencing hearing<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv7439680417MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Ramos-Corrales is facing up to seven years in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><strong>DOJ NOTED<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv7439680417MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"> The FBI investigated this matter and received substantial assistance from the Riverside Police Department.
