{"id":43002,"date":"2021-06-11T13:01:18","date_gmt":"2021-06-11T20:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=43002"},"modified":"2021-06-11T13:02:22","modified_gmt":"2021-06-11T20:02:22","slug":"daughter-of-mexican-cartel-leader-sentenced-for-narcotics-kingpin-crimes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=43002","title":{"rendered":"Daughter of Mexican Cartel Leader Sentenced for Narcotics Kingpin Crimes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"field field--name-field-pr-body field--type-text-long field--label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__items\">\n<div class=\"field__item even\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><strong>WASHINGTON D.C.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The daughter of the leader of the Mexican drug trafficking organization known as the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion, a \u00a0dual U.S.-Mexican citizen, was sentenced Friday to 30 months in prison, officials stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Prosecutors stated Jessica Johanna Oseguera Gonzalez willfully engaged in financial dealings with Mexican companies that had been identified as specially designated narcotics traffickers by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, according to authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0Oseguera Gonzalez, 34, of Guadalajara, Mexico, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/daughter-prolific-mexican-cartel-leader-pleads-guilty-criminal-violation-foreign-narcotics\">pleaded guilty on March 12, 2021<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vv3FQDtzb-w\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; text-align: center;\">According to court documents, she violated the criminal penalties of the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act by engaging in transactions and dealings in property with six Mexican businesses that had been sanctioned by OFAC as specially designated narcotics traffickers in September 2015 and September 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-pr-body field--type-text-long field--label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__items\">\n<div class=\"field__item even\">\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The six businesses were designated for providing material support to the narcotics trafficking activities of the CJNG, which was itself designated by OFAC in April 2015. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Oseguera Gonzalez\u2019s father, Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, aka \u201cEl Mencho,\u201d who is the leader of CJNG, and her uncle, Abigael Gonzalez Valencia, who is the leader of the Los Cuinis drug trafficking organization, were also sanctioned by OFAC in April 2015.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Court documents indicate that Oseguera Gonzalez was an owner of two Mexican companies designated by OFAC, J&amp;P Advertising, S.A. de C.V., and JJGON S.P.R. de R.L. de C.V., and that she was an officer, director, or agent of four additional sanctioned businesses, Las Flores Cabanas, Mizu Sushi Lounge, Tequila Onze Black, and Operadora Los Famosos, S.A. de C.V., doing business as Kenzo Sushi. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">She remained an owner, officer, director or agent of those entities following their OFAC designations, and did not seek the required license from OFAC to engage in those financial transactions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u201cThis sentence shows that violating the Treasury Department\u2019s sanctions of businesses and persons tied to foreign drug cartels will not go unpunished,\u201d said Acting Assistant Attorney General Nicholas L.
