The charges include allegations of taking more than $500,000 from about 30 insurance companies through fraud and embezzlement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">In addition to Royzman and Chernega, the other defendants are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Edith Coronado-Grande, 57, of Glendora<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Lon Segal, 65, of Los Angeles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Bruce Householder, 49, of Burbank<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Christine Elvine,\u00a0 51, of Arcadia<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Luzan Madain, 46, of Canyon Country<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Payam Shayan, 51, of Tarzana<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Arash Noor, 41, of Los Angeles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">David Soloway, 51, of Brea<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Gilberto Gomez, 72, of Los Angeles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Omid Okhowat, 51, of Los Angeles<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">From 2014 through 2019, Chernega allegedly offered to refer new patients to other chiropractors in return for an illegal referral fee, through which he collected about $2.5 million, prosecutors said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The patients allegedly had been involved in automobile collisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The defendants also are accused of filing false claims for medical services they never provided. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The case stems from an ongoing case involving Chernega and 14 additional chiropractors filed in 2019.\u00a0 The case
