Phillips imposed the 15-Year prison sentence and ordered that Davolt be under supervised release for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">When special agents with the FBI examined his computers and email accounts, they uncovered approximately 738 images and 204 videos depicting child pornography, including videos involving the sexual abuse of toddlers and infants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Justice-Depart.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1057\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Justice-Depart.jpg 320w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Justice-Depart-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Justice-Depart-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When he pleaded guilty, Davolt admitted that he used email to receive and share child pornography. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In seeking a 15-year sentence, prosecutors argued that some images depicted children under the age of 2 being used for sexual acts, and other images portrayed sadistic or masochistic sexual conduct involving children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In addition to the images and videos, FBI agents discover chat messages, some dating back to 2009, in which Davolt chatted with women in the Philippines and not only \u201cexplicitly requested child pornography videos, but also directed the sexual exploitation of children via webcam,\u201d according to a sentencing memorandum filed by prosecutors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEven more troubling, [Davolt] bragged about how he previously had sex with children while visiting the Philippines (which defendant, in fact, traveled to on 12-13 occasions) and made plans to have sex with children in an upcoming visit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In a victim impact statement submitted to the court and excerpted in the sentencing memorandum, the mother of one victim said her daughter suffered from \u201cprolonged major trauma\u201d that will affect \u201cher mind for the rest of her life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The FBI conducted the investigation in this case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES James Davolt, 53, of Templeton, was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty on June 4 to receipt of child pornography and distribution of child pornography, according to officials.
