Olguin sentenced John Edward Zeretzke, 62, of Ventura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Zeretzke pleaded guilty in August 2020 to one count of production of child pornography. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/download-9-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43850\"\/><figcaption><meta charset=\"utf-8\"\/><strong>John Edward Zeretzke<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">He previously pleaded guilty in Orange County Superior Court to six state counts of committing lewd or lascivious acts with minors under the age of 14 years old. He was sentenced in July 2020 in the state court case to 18 years in state prison, a sentence that will run concurrently with his federal prison sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; From December 2016 to February 2017, Zeretzke used a computer and the internet to communicate with a female minor and coerced her into producing child pornography. The victim did not live in California at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201c[Zeretzke] preyed on young, impoverished girls in Third World countries and used his Flutes Around the World program as a means to contact and sometimes take advantage of those girls,\u201d prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memorandum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This case is a part of\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/psc\">Project Safe Childhood<\/a>, the Justice Department\u2019s ongoing initiative to combat the plague of child exploitation crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Los Angeles County
