The investigation will also assess MVPD\u2019s use of force, strip and body cavity searches, and how it handles evidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The department will conduct a comprehensive review of Mount Vernon Police Department&#8217;s systems of accountability, including complaint intake, investigation, review, disposition and discipline.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Federal prosecutors will also reach out to community groups and members of the public to learn about their experiences with the MVPD.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HTy8u9M3SH8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Prior to the announcement, department officials informed Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard, MVPD Chief Marcel Olifiers, City Council President Marcus A.
